Jones, Ayron: Audio Paint Job

Here is another artist completely unfamiliar to me. Ayron Jones is an American musician with a couple of albums to his credit; his debut titled Dream and his brand new release Audio Paint Job.

First and foremost this is a rock album with other elements such as blues and hip hop. Aryon proves to be a fine guitarist and vocalist as his earthy vocal tone is emotive and very easy to listen to. He also has a pretty fine band behind him as well.

The full band is:

Ayron Jones (vocals, electric guitars, 12 string acoustic guitar, piano)
Bob Lovelace (electric bass, piano)
Barrett Martin (drums, percussion, typewriter, piano, vibraphone, Wurlitzer)
Ehssan Karimi (drums)
Kai Van De Pitte (drums)
Whitney Mongé (backing vocals)
Scarlet Parke (backing vocals)
Brad Laina (backing vocals)
Tayler Lynn (backing vocals)
DeAndre Enrico (electric bass)
DJ Indica Jones (scratching)
Andrew Joslyn (string arrangement)
Joe Doria (Hammond B3)
Johnathan Wright (opera vocals)

The album's opening track "Take Me Away" is a nice mixture of heavy rock and hip hop elements. Emotive vocals and slow burning guitar along with nice female backing vox puts a melodic stamp on what is a really good modern rock tune. "Emily" is a Zeppelin inspired homage with its burning riffs and Plant inspired vocals before slowing things down and taking a breather with the excellent "It's Over When It's Over" featuring a lovely string arrangement and impassioned vocals.

Really, Audio Paint Job is a fine rock album with a modern sound that could do very well if given half the chance.
