This is an exceptional album. Highly recommended. Kristina sounds like an angel. I'm searching for more albums with her voice as well as Rick Miller's back catalog of music. Get this.
March of the Demons – Wow, an anthemic and regal opening with synths and piercing lead electric guitar. Sax sounds which take me back to Lynn Stokes' Terra Nocturne. "Listen to the echoes in the hallway." Then eerie synths and a blistering guitar solo follows, which makes this one of the best tracks on the album. An instrumental extravaganza with a few lyrics that add to the effect.
Dreamtigers – This one opens with wonderful acoustic guitar out front and launching electric in the background. An awesome effect. But the best is yet to come with Kristina's beautiful voice. Still difficult to decide if this or the last song is the best on the album. This song has Kristina's voice, the last one the awesome synthesizers. When she sings, "Dream into this fantasy. Believe how you feel", she takes you there with her.
Ghost of a Common Man – The melody at the beginning of this one is wonderful. Sara Young's flute just sends this one over the top early. Each new track is building momentum and drawing the listener deeper into the 'dream'. The harp - like effect adds so much to the soundscape before those 'Banks – like' keys and the 'Hackett – like' guitar fly through. Then Kristina's angelic voice is back, "Your ghost is here. I can feel you near. Still I miss you tonight." The instrumental sections which follow are intricate and yet relaxing.
Still In It – Synths and Kristina's beautiful voice, this time, front and center and not flying dreamily through the air of the soundscape. "I take the fall. You know I've seen it all." The Gilmouresque guitar solo that follows is incredible. Then wondrous acoustic guitar mixing well with Kristina's voice, "Living in this dream forever lost." A Pink Floydian extravaganza of synths and electric lead follow. But with Kristina's voice, this music packs an extra punch.
Spanish Fly – Kristina's "ooh" at the beginning of this song is placed perfectly. Nice regal synths, solid drums and the lead guitar plunging headlong into the soundscape.
Return of the Acolyte – That 'harp – like' effect is back. And they do a great job of showcasing it from the beginning. The acoustic that blends in does a great job in support. The dreamy synth work is wonderful. More drums than on most of the album so far, and they set a nice slow dirge pace, which works perfectly against the soaring 'Banks – like' synths that follow.
Gods of a Distant Land – Another great instrumental. This one opens with a cool guitar, then those cosmic synths forcing you to hang on to each note. Dreamy, yet eerie. A cool mix.
The Call– Beautiful piano to open this one. Kristina is back and delivers so angelically, "My hands touch the earth. My heart reaches inward." The synths and almost orchestral support is wonderful. The drums and lead electric warm and fill the soundscape. A perfect ending to this album. A cool electric guitar solo takes us on out.
Sometimes – (Bonus track) – Violin and sax. A jazzy mixed Pink Floyd sound with soft tapped drums and cymbals. Male vocals this time. A nice bonus track.
