The promo material that arrived with this disc says that it is Swedish Death Metal in its purist form. Well I am here to tell you that this album is Death Metal for sure but it has only traces of the punk influences associated with the Swedish scene. Brutally Deceased plays a thrashier, speedier version and while guitarist Tomas Halama will grab your attention, most of this disc falls into the I have heard it all before category. Combine that with the monotone growl of vocalist Zlababa and you have an album with flashes of good metal but overall a very uninspiring and frankly boring disc.
Other than the flourishes of guitar virtuoso by Halama, there is really little else to make this a disc that will find its way into your listening rotation. With drummer Stefy being adequate and nothing more along with Zlababa's best feature being his name, I would have to say that this one has me thinking if you get some decent support for Tomas you will have something. Until that happens you have mediocrity.
