From the killer cover art, to the power packed 1-2 punch of openers "Angel in Black" and "Kiss of Death", you knew right away that Primal Fear were out for blood and willing to take no prisoners on their third release Nuclear Fire. Originally released in 2001 on Nuclear Blast Records, this longtime favorite of the fans is now being reissued and remastered by Metal Mind Productions, complete with a slew of bonus tracks.
There's a reason why this album has been a favorite of fans for ten years-each and every song completely kicks ass. Aside from the already mentioned two classics that kick off the CD, there's also the raging speed metal demon "Back From Hell", the melodic "Now or Never", the crushing "Fight the Fire", the fist pumping anthem "Eye of an Eagle", the power ballad "Bleed for Me", and the tasty melodic power metal classics "Red Rain" and "Nuclear Fire". Hard to top many of these songs, though surprisingly the band have been able to churn out material of this caliber with stunning regularity in the years since.
Some great bonus cuts here too, like the massive "Living For Metal" and the fun cover of Gary Moore's "Out in the Fields". Throughout the CD, Ralf Scheepers is at his histrionic best, as his vocals are commanding and soaring to the heavens. New guitarist Henny Wolter, along with Stefan Leibing, provide more axe firepower than is humanly possible, and Klaus Sperling & Mat Sinner deliver thunderous rhythms as always. It's a glorious power metal ride that you'll want to take over and over again. Toss in a remaster job that makes Nuclear Fire sound even more powerful than before, and you have a reissue that NEEDS to be in your heavy metal collection.
