Dialeto describes themselves as an "art-rock / prog-rock band". The band was formed in Brazil in 1987 by Nelson Coelho, guitar and vocals, Andrei Ivanovic, fretless bass and Miguel Angel on drums and backing vocals.
This is interesting, mostly instrumental music full of heavy bass, weird and wild synths and guitar work. Very original and different than most of what you hear today from most prog rock artists. "Enigma 5", is a great opener and takes you right back to early Rush, only this time with even heavier bass sounds. The band's signature track, "Dialeto", 'dialect', is full of great bass, lead electric guitar work, and solid drums. "As Pedras Voam" opens well with a more upbeat sound and cool lead electric guitar riffs. Some of the best guitar work comes on "This is the World", despite the sad lyrics which describe the cold modern world, on this eight minute epic. "Chromatic Freedom", the title track is also an interesting piece of spacey echoing guitar work. The sounds of the ocean mixed with cool bass on "Eu me Lembro", 'I Remember', offer a cool opening along with the chimes.
