As the opening song"Retap" started off my first exposure to the band I thought of David Byrne and Talking Heads. New wave with a little bit of punk, I thought this might be a kind of interesting nostalgic trip but was I ever wrong. From the promising start the band takes you into an unappealing, bland world where repetition seems to be the road map and noise rock is the basis for this endeavor to be avant garde. You can hear an attempt to draw on a Fugazi like sound at times and this might be the root of their problem as it seems they want to try and sound too much like other bands instead of finding their own way.
Long punkish instrumental passages that seem to repeat themselves constantly is the formula that this band uses constantly on this disc and by the end you are completely numb to what is coming out of the speakers. I suppose for those who do not want to have to think about what they are listening to this disc will fit the bill. For others who want something more than background fodder, stay away.
