Lifting directly from the Press Release we learn that, "Steel Aggressor hails from
Indiana and delivers a compact punch of classic power-speed metal in the vein of the olde. If 80s German speed metal with a dark fantasy flare is your game, and bands like early Blind Guardian, Paradox, Angel Dust, Vendetta, Iced Earth, etc. still bring goosebumps to your skin, then look no further. Recommended for fans of: Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Armored Saint, Paradox, Angel Dust."
For once there's a suitable lack of hyperbole apart from, "a compact punch of classic power-speed metal," but any record label which was to write something along the lines of, "entirely OK but somewhat predictable metal," wouldn't be doing their job properly. That said, I have no problem with my line as From Ruins to Dust is perfectly adequate and does a job whilst it's on but afterwards there's precious to stick in the memory banks. There are some lovely twin guitar heroics in the title track and elsewhere the vocals sound a little like Tom Araya but whilst this isn't awful by any stretch of the imagination it really has very little to enable it to stand out in an already overcrowded marketplace.
