Taletellers: Radicalizer

The first thing that struck me about this album was the album artwork, which has been created by the renown Mark Wilkinson, (who has done the artwork for all three of their albums), being known for his work with the likes of Marillion and Judas Priest. The image is powerful, almost an identity fit picture for Batman's Two Face, which more than matches the music presented here.

The four piece German heavy metal band Taletellers presents to the world their bouncy and at times anthemic approached heavy metal philosophies that cover all the usual bases, attitude ridden, simplistic and straight to the point songs, being an album full of great down and dirty rhythm guitar work and some nice lead breaks that just power out of the speakers, shaking you from your toes right through to your ears.

With the band having stuck to a formulaic and very well-worn path, the listener is presented with some memorable songs, having a slight feel of the Backyard Babies and Hellacopters about them and also bringing to mind the heady days of the 80's when these bands were in their abundance.

As an album it isn't going to set the world on fire, but it will bring a smile to your face, songs like "The Keepers of Doom" which isn't a million miles away from their song called "Bad Motherf**ker", "The Lie" which features some nice double kick drum work, the vitriolic sounding "Sandictico" the driving "Rolling into Ruin" and the power house that is "24/7 Bad Ass" are definitely worth investigating.
