Factor Burzaco: II

Factor Burzaco is an avant garde Buenos Aires, Argentina band formed by composer Abel Gilbert. This album continues their tradition of offering music and sounds compiled in a way to provide originality and variety. The sounds of avant garde music, similar to Frank Zappa and often set to orchestral interludes is a different experience all together. This music is very difficult to describe and is better listened to and enjoyed from one's own perspective, where you can form your own opinions. Restuccia Carolina's vocals are at times very soft and beautiful and at other times they bring back memories of Yoko Ono. Definitely not for everyone, but if you like variety and something completely different from the sounds you hear daily then try this out sometime.

The list of performers on this album is long and full of many wonderful instrumental sounds:
Restuccia Carolina on vocals
Pol Gonzalez on vocals
Paul Torterolo on drums
Fernando Taborda on guitars
Nahuel Tavosnanska on bass
Alan Courtis on guitars
Carlos Lucero on guitars
Fabian Keroglian on vibraphone and percussion
Sebastian Schachtel on accordion
Sergio Catalan on flutes
Federico Landaburu on clarinet
Will Genz on bassoon and contra-bassoon
Mauro Rosales on soprano sax
Nolly Rosa on alto and baritone sax
Dana Najlis on clarinet
Mauro Zannoli on electronic processes

Marcelo Cohen supplies the lyrics
The Chamber Orchestra was directed by Marcelo Delgado
Daniel Hernandez did the engineer and mastering.
Daniel Hernandez and A. Gilbert designed the sound

My Score:

On the one hand, the critic says: "his music (Factor Burzaco) is very difficult to describe and is better listened to and enjoyed from one's own perspective". He says too, the disc is "full of many wonderful instrumental sounds", and has "originality and variety". I do not understand, then, he rates the record with only three stars. I have the album and deserves ahigher ponderation.
