Aerial Ruin: Valleys Of The Earth

Eric Moggridge solo with just an acoustic guitar and his voice. Under the name Aerial Ruin Eric has recorded Valleys of the Earth. The promotional materials speaks of a singer/songwriter approach for the album. I can understand that bit, we have a man, his voice, a guitar, a melody, and lyrics, all ingredients a singer songwriter needs in making his music.

Aerial Ruin has made an effort to compose good and solid material, yet the monotonous sound, playing guitar like a robot, with no emotion, basically ruins it all. To speak with the words of my son when he also heard the album when I played it loud in my study, "plain boring".

Surely there will be lots and lots of people around that thrive by this kind of music. I can only name you "Sacraments" as a track I found worthwhile listening, with plenty of hooks and twists.

For the undertaken effort I'll reward him with a star. But no joke it's not my thing.
