Blessed as I am with these reviews I find yet another band I cannot get into a box. I completely disagree with what the promotional text indicates. The music I hear on this CD by Heirs most certainly is not Sludge/ Drone. Although looking at the latter at times it is imaginable that this gets indicated as some drone is present here.
At times the music reminds me of Post Rock or Post Metal even but for the first it is overly rough and the second normally is louder and rougher. So what should we call this instrumental outing by Heirs? I do not have the foggiest idea.
However I do know what I can tell you about the music, it contains guitar playing, but also lots of electronic programming, and synthesizer. It's moody, dark but full of tranquility, easing yet entertaining at the same time. The sheer monotony of the music eases in a way that makes you forget everything, and wander off to higher more relaxing places not of this world.
If that is what you are looking for in your music, go out get your copy; don't forget you need to pay if you take it. Pure addiction, not entirely my beef but that can't spoil the pleasure.
