REV 16:8: Ashlands

It's Black Metal Jim, pretty much as we know it. Fifteen years into their career (they started out as Bloodshed) REV 16:8 have produced a suitably brutal and ferocious album which should go down very well with those predisposed to the genre. It is highly doubtful that it will convert those who like mainstream popular music but I suspect that neither the band nor their label care that much.

Ashlands is solidly crafted (if that isn't damning with false praise) and at times somewhat face melting in its assault on the ears yet retains a good sense of melody throughout to make it a perfectly acceptable way to spend time.
