Nihil Obstat came to life back in 1999. The Colombian act has been releasing a constant flow of albums ever since, as well as taken part on a few compilations. They have shared stage with the likes of: Suffocation, Massacre and Neurosis.
Disintegration is an eleven track, 31 minutes long album. The musical direction is Brutal Death metal. The compositions are normally in the 2-3 minutes range; although some are shorter .The drumming is relentless and acrobatic. The vocals are the un-decipherable deep growls with occasional effects and sickness in them. The guitar work is highly technical, which in turn give a real technical vibe to the entire disc. Unfortunately, this also affects the melodious ratio which is close to absent throughout the album. The pace varies as well as the mood accompanying them; from fast / aggressive to moderate and crushing. The latter being the more interesting as far as I'm concerned. Not too much of variation is being presented. A few electronics here and some vocal samplings there, but not much else to improve the listening experience.
Disintegration is specifically made for the fans of brutal and technical death metal.
