Divultion: The End of Humanity

Formed in 2005, the Russian quartet has released a demo in 2008 called: DEMOralization . Now in 2010, they are back with their very first full length called The End of Humanity.

As you can see on the cover art, we are dealing with a pretty dark and grim scenery here. This is no happy ending story, and the soundtrack chosen is one of brutal death metal nature. We have good musicians here and they can come up with some pretty intricate compositions mixed with aggressiveness. The music is highly guitar driven, mostly due to the lead tremolo picking and solos that you can find in the majority of the songs. Often, a moderate pace is being used, although more furious ones, with double basses, are also frequently heard. The vocals are the un-decipherable low growls commonly found in this type of metal. The good news is that Divultion is not only brutal and technical, but they have a certain level of melody involved in their songwriting. This makes the album pass more easily down your hearing apparel. Unfortunately though, this does not prevent the repetitiveness from the genre, making the listener feel that he just heard that part on the previous songs. Then you can count on a few of those mid-paced crushingness that are scattered here and there on this disc. On the other hand, I can't come up with any stand-out tracks as such.

The End of Humanity is another CD that will most likely find takers mainly amongst the brutal death metal crowd.
