Frost Hammer: Live at Reeds 3-12-2011

Since this CD came with no info whatsoever, I can't hardly tell you anything more than what was recorded on these three tracks.

First, usually on a live album, you can hear a crowd and all sort of noises, but here nothing like that can be witnessed and the sound is actually pretty good. Anyways, on the first track, "Wizard Tooth" one can easily guessed their huge Sabbath influence. Good crushing guitar work and those Ionni copied solos are present, along with the long musical break. The only weakness is the vocals; being too clean and somewhat dull and dry. Distorted leads, pounding drums and fat bass lines are following on "Master of Weapon". Here again, good crushing riffs are showing, but on the other hand, the arpeggios appear as sounding out of key in some parts. Closing track, "Void" is another good Sabbath inspired composition, this time the boys had the good idea to close things up with an instrumental piece. Good crushingness is all over the arpeggios and riffing on this one.

All in all a nice little disc of old school doom metal. Hopefully by their next output, they will have a more lively and doomed vocalist.
