Polish Black Metal band Deep Desolation seems to be one of the groups that just want to follow the trend instead of creating one. Sounding like hundreds of other outfits that use Black Sabbath as their foundation, Deep Desolation tries to make up for the lack of originality by trying to be as offensive with their lyrics as possible. Luckily, the unlegible, monotone vocals are done in such a way as to make the lyrics immaterial unless you read the few that they print in the booklet.
This disc is simply put, a run of the mill offering that although listenable, has no real reason to ever put in the player again. There is nothing new or exciting here. Instead you get well worn riffs, a boring vocal style and a band that really seems to only have marginal ability to write music. The title track "Subliminal Visions" is the best offering on the disc but even here there is this annoying noise throughout that made my wife think that I had two songs playing at the same time.
I cannot recommend this disc even for the most avid black metal fan. It is trite, ordinary and something that you have heard hundreds of times before. Believe me when I tell you to approach with caution as this one is just boring.
