I've said it numerous times in recent memory, but Frontiers Records is quickly becoming a label juggernaut, employing tons of new & veteran hard rock, metal, melodic rock, and prog acts on its roster. You can now add former Skid Row belter Sebastian Bach to that ever growing list, and he's got a hot new release in Kicking & Screaming, proving to the world that he still can deliver the metal goods in a big way.
There's one crunchy ripper after another here on Kicking & Screaming, as Bach and his band, featuring guitarist Nick Sterling and drummer Bobby Jarzombek (HALFORD, RIOT, ICED EARTH), dig deep and have come up 13 tracks of hard rock & metal testosterone highlighted by Bach's soaring wail, thunderous rhythms, Sterling's massive riffs & solos, and most importantly catchy melodies. Tunes like the scorching title track, the pounding "TunnelVision" (featuring a KILLER guitar solo from John 5), the grinding "Caught in a Dream", and the powerful metal fury of "Dirty Power" provide all the crunch for longtime fans who loved Slave to the Grind, Subhuman Race and Angel Down. There's also a cool power ballad in "I'm Alive" and the melodic rocker "Wishin' " which showcases Bach's more tender side.
If you doubted that Sebastian Bach was still relevant in the world of hard rock & metal, give Kicking & Screaming a listen. With a killer production from Bob Marlette (BLACK SABBATH, SHINEDOWN, ATREYU, FILTER) and fantastic cover artwork courtesy of Richard Villa, Kicking & Screaming is a winner on all fronts. Bach's new band scorches, and it will be interesting to see this outfit in a live setting in the near future.
