O.H.M.: Open Wide Sky

Not to be confused with ex-Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland's fusion outfit OHM, this unit plays a brand of music with its feet much more firmly planted in the soil of pop. So, how does it work? Pretty well at times, times such as the opening "Sora," where martial drumbeats match with ethereal melodies. But as happens with band that spend time in the stratosphere, the songs don't always prove as memorable as they might (despite some deft musicianship) if the band spent just a little more time on the ground. Decent for those moments when you're feeling transcendental, less so in those moments when you're not.
