King Giant: Dismal Hollow

From the first note I heard of this new album by King Giant I thought the band was influenced massively by the Old Sabbath gang but I also got hints towards fellow Kings, the boys from King's X. I hear a lot of old style Sabbath like soundscapes, even Hawkwind and Motorhead spring to mind.

There's an addictive sound present here that makes me want to hear more, and over and over again. The songs are all riff based with a simple but effective melody line placed on top of it, which can't be missed. This has become a very solid album, making way for a potentially bigger crowd, bigger audience. The five piece band grows stronger with every new album they market, Dismal Hollow being their best yet.

What can we expect from these guys? I am hoping they can do better still, even though I like the pounding and thriving sound of Dismal Hollow, I think the best from them is yet to come. Floyd, Todd, Dave, David and Brooks have given it their best shot and it's worth it
