Quantum Sphere: The Space Adventures of Pyjama Boy

Well what a cracking album The Space Adventures of Pyjama Boy by London based Prog Metallers Quantum Sphere is. This is the type of album that will keep this genre burning long into the night with its inventive and rather, if I might add, addictive approach.

If you are looking for music that has taken stock form the likes of Planet X, Liquid Tension Experiment or Dream Theater marrying it with the likes of Messhuggah then this seriously is a band that you need to sit up and take notice of, getting in on the proverbial ground floor. They may languish in a world that is crowded by this approach, but with their persuasive technicality they certainly demonstrate that they can hold their own and that they have the material to make them stand out in a crowd.

The album as a whole is just filled to the brim with interesting, technical nuances that will more than pacify the insatiable hunger for any lover of this genre. This whole affair is solely instrumental, that incorporates jazz noodling tightly interwoven with powerful and audacious musical passages that are filled with adept mathematical precision, highly impressive flourishes, time perfect syncopations, meaningful meanderings and indulgent time changes that transcend musical emotion. Need I say more?

Just press play and literally, let the music do the talking! In all honesty, it is difficult to believe that this band has only been in existence for a few years, having been able to write, record and produce such an outstanding album. You really do need to participate in The Space Adventures of Pyjama Boy. Trust me you will not be disappointed.
