  • Stéphane Dupé - Bass, Krakebs, Keyboards
  • Florent Marcadet - Drums, Percussion, Additional vocal

See above the crew which is Step In Fluid. Before me their debut effort called One Step Beyond

A listening experience for 30 minutes only. And what do you get? Well you are served a plate with 8 dishes of a varying courses.

You'll grasp it, take it and either like it or find out it is out of your league. Ultimately you are to pick which it will be. Myself, I like what I hear, a mix of Instrumental rock songs with a flavour of Jazz and Funk, twisting all around. Looking at the credits there appear to be vocals on the album. I have a surprise for you- I could not find any lyrics. Vocals therefore must mean the utterings here and there. I hope so.

What were the boys thinking when they created this musical extravaganza? With the description above stating the use of jazz, funk and rock, the music becomes a fusion of styles. It does not become full blown Jazz fusion but has its elements. Neither is it a full blown progressive rock album. Saying this means it is somewhere in the middle of these styles. One might call it Alternative progressive Metal.

The guitar playing by both Harun and Aldrick is of high standards, the drumming of Florent is flawless, and as we have a funky/jazzy album we have a funky jazzy styled bass which is handled superbly by Stéphane.

All in all there's a lot of good structured music here, for the better part instrumental. A listening session of half an hour is not long for the music, but it's easy on your ears and what's important in this case is it swings like mad.

I'll be keeping an eye out for the next effort from this quartet. Sounds too good to be true.
