Craaft: Second Honeymoon

Craaft originated in Germany in the midst of the 1980's, where they were a traditional Hard rock outfit as so many were around that time. All of these bands had to struggle against the growing popularity of disco, punk, and new wave. Metal and hard rock though were in the not done corner.

It was not cool to like a hard rock band, although you had those that were famous, like Judas Priest or Craaft's fellow german rockers Scorpions. But if you were new at that time you needed to bring something new to the table or be very very very good.

Craaft are neither, they do not bring something extra to the scene that has not been done before, neither are they so exceptionally good that they break through with something catchy. On Second Honeymoon you'll find 16 decent rock songs, good listening material, all of them on this CD from the mid '80's and given the production in those days sounds surprisingly good. Still noticeably backdated, but then again this is a reissue of older material. The album contains 3 songs that can be seen as bonus and were not previously released on the album.

Germusica the label releasing all these old rockers is a promotion company for the music originating in Germany. They do fulfill a gap with releasing this material.

Craaft is good listening material and deserves a spot in Hard rock collections around the world, that said it is collector material. This is not a new band but they existed in the earlier days of old, when hard rock struggled to survive.

Craaft was to the best of my knowledge the following people: Uwe Block, Klaus Luley, Reinhard Besser, Franz Keil and Sandy Gennaro. Lyrically a lot of the songs have been written by Tony Carey, former keyboard player of Rainbow and Planet P.
