Served Dead: Servants Arise

Served Dead is a Finnish band whose debut Servants Arise will be released on July 13th 2012 in N. America. The band are a cross between black metal and death metal with more of an emphasis on black metal. The songs are interesting at times, but not incredibly original with most songs fitting the standard blackish metal format of screechy vocals, fast parts and some acoustic "pretty" interludes at times. If you thought of Cradle of Filth or Dimmu Borgir you wouldn't be incredibly far off in describing the band's sound.

The band has a lot of potential, but as of this moment doesn't have anything really different that will attract them attention in a sea of black metal bands, which is too bad as they do have a lot of talent. I look forward to hearing more from these guys in the future and hopefully they'll be able to come up with some stuff next time that will make them stand out more.
