Fury UK: Death By Lightning (DVD)
 The debut DVD release from rising metal trio Fury UK comes on the back of the recent news that bassist Luke Appleton has taken up the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join Iced Earth and will be heading out on tour with Jon Schaffer and Co in the very near future. Whilst this will inevitably mean a scaling back of Fury UK activities in the medium term the band (thankfully) remains very much an ongoing concern and there will (hopefully) be plenty more to come in the future. Not simply a "one gig" concert release Death By Lightning mixes up backstage interviews, acoustic footage, tour bus revelations and assorted on the road shenanigans and is a good way to close out the first chapter of their story so far. Having toured the UK and mainland Europe extensively with (amongst others) Iced Earth and Blaze Bayley they have built a solid fan base, helped further by some well received slots at prestigious festivals. What is evident from the footage here is the enthusiasm and appreciation each of the band members has for playing live and they have the talent and ability to deliver some explosive performances.
Guitarist and vocalist Chris Appleton together with drummer Martin McNee have recently announced that they will be part of newly formed classic metal quartet Absolva with their debut live appearance scheduled for the SOS Festival in Manchester over the weekend of 21/22 of July. In the meantime this DVD offers an entertaining look at the development of Fury UK and is well worth checking out.
