Firstly the facts according to the record company; Soulicit are from Wichita, KS and are comprised of lead vocalist Darick Parson, guitarist Roll, bassist Kevin Parrow & drummer Trent Boehner. The band has been winning over audiences around the US with their energetic live shows and heartfelt music. If we can tell anything from the name dropping press release the band have shared stages with Buckcherry, Fuel, SevenDust, Halestrom, Lacuna Coil, and Pop Evil so we are in some kind of modern rock paradigm.
Parking Lot Rockstar is a more than decent modern rock record. It's quite angsty and not exactly a laugh riot. I couldn't help but listen to it and think of Black Stone Cherry (I like BSC so this is meant as a complement.) "Complicated" is very much like BSC indeed whilst the title track is a fine piece of contemporary Southern Rock and if I were a betting man I could definitely see Soulicit making significant waves over the next few months and possibly years.
