Cannon: Burning Love

My initial thoughts after listening to Burning Love were these; firstly, please, please please, could all band stop putting annoying intro songs at the front of albums? Surely nobody likes these? "Guardian Pipes", which sets Burning Love on its way, is a particularly bad example – bagpipes? Why oh why would you want to subject the listener to that? Secondly, along with Solar Fragment's In Our Hands, this is one of the better albums which Blind Guardian have never recorded. Thirdly Mat Rein Jaehnke does a fabulous Udo Dirkschneider impression throughout.

They may not be the best looking band in the world nor have the kind of image to excite the kids but Burning Love is full of quality hard rock from beginning to end. There aren't many frills just straight ahead Euro metal with great big guitars and fist pumping songs and there's a lot to be said in favour of those things in this day and age.
