Sound Storm: Immortalia

Everything you need to know about Sound Storm can be summed up the names dropped in their biography, namely Rhapsody of Fire and Blind Guardian. There are indeed many worse names to drop and as you'd expect the full kitchen sink is thrown at Immortalia production-wise. Lead singer Philippe d'Orange (not his real name)channels his inner Fabio Lione at all times and there are some very good songs on the album such as "Back to Life" and "The Curse of the Moon". Guitarist Valerio Sbriglione is all over this record like the proverbial rash and I imagine if this was the first cinematic power metal disc I'd ever heard I'd be absolutely creaming myself. As it is, this is decidedly acceptable fare if not overly original.
