Access Denied: Touch of Evil

Pitch Black Records is the home of Access Denied who hail from Poland and feature Agnieszka Sulich – vocals, Jacek "Jaca" Kolankiewicz – guitars, Mateusz "Matolek" Krauze – guitars, Pawel "Wolv" Nejczew – bass and Michal Lysejko – drums. Clearly, although the band is promoted as female-fronted metal, the key players are Kolankiewicz and Krauze who cook up a guitar strom throughout.

The album was originally released in Poland and now gets a wider audience courtesy of the Pitch Black people. The album is fine without being exceptional particularly in terms of the songs which are fairly perfunctory enlivened though by spirited performances especially on the standout title track. Perhaps their next album will be the breakthrough as the musical chops are certainly in place.
