Yugen: Mirrors
Yūgen is an Italian-based avant/chamber-rock musical project born during autumn of 2004. The idea was generated between Francesco Zago and Marcello Marinone. The album merges progressive and RIO-style rock with contemporary chamber music.
This is a cool, instrumental experience that will act as a nice change to all the music you may have in your collection. Interesting keys, percussion, piano, woodwinds, guitar, bass, and drum arrangements that keep you on your toes at all times. Never boring always taking a different direction.
'Cloudscape' and 'Corale Metallurgico' are my favorites off the album. 'Cloudscape' for its relaxing rhythm and melody. 'Corale Metallurgico', because it seems to be the track all others were building up to deliver. All instruments delivered in full sound.
This is something out of the ordinary. A nice distraction from your regular listening. Not jazz, not prog, just completely inventive and new.
