First of all...ridiculous band name, juvenile CD title, and equally infantile cover art. All that aside, and what you have is Scum Sentinel, a no nonsense, black metal juggernaut that also knows how to throw in some thrash and rock 'n' roll elements into their maniacal style. One look at the song titles and you pretty much know what to expect here, and yes, all this insanity is delivered in the most vile way possible, which for lovers of raw, primal black metal should more than deliver the goods.
Vocals here remind me of that Vegan Black Metal Chef guy on Youtube (yes, seriously), and W.Solstice, who also plays bass, is way up in the mix, perhaps too much so at times, so his evil screams & bellows can get a tad overbearing and drowns out what are some pretty cool riffs on a few of these tracks. When the band gets into a Motorhead meets Celtic Frost groove, the results can be kind of fun, but overall, I don't know, there's just an 'over the top-ness' here that feels forced and planned, as if Scum Sentinel are trying to go overboard with their 'kvlt' intentions, and the raunchy, vile lyrical imagery can be a tad much. That being said, the musicianship is quite good here, and it's all plenty brutal, though the production is perhaps a bit too bright and like I said earlier, the vocals are mixed too high.
If your regular musical tastes include everything and everything black metal, then Scumshot should have plenty to offer you, but if a little bit of sophistication in this style of extreme metal is what you crave, this one might be a little scary.
