White Orange: Onawa

Rhythmically dense and stylistically diverse, the Portland, Oregon act White Orange have come up with an intriguing 3 song EP here that throws together psychedelic, stoner, and alternative elements into a blender and out comes a sound that is very easy to get into. Full of heavy riffs, trippy sound effects, layers of vocals, and crashing rhythms, songs like "Either Or" and the addicting opener "Ehyeh" on the surface don't seem like anything special, but after repeated spins you begin to discover just how hard it is to get these tunes out of your head. Booming bass riffs and fuzz-toned guitars swirl around effects-laden vocals on the mid-rangey "...And I Leave the Circus", a Kyuss-meets-Neurosis-meets-Sonic Youth sludge rocker that is as wacky and odd as the title suggest.

This is definitely a little EP to check out, and a band worth keeping your eye on.
