Hmm, this is a strange one, make no mistake about it. Looking at the whole situation rationally there is so much here which can be taken outside into the garden and bashed all over the place. For me, the key band to reference when it comes to Sister Sin is Mötley Crüe. Sister Sin want to be the Crüe so much it must hurt. There's almost zero originality on Dance of the Wicked it almost hurts. Just to re-enforce the situation Doro pops up on "Rock 'N Roll" just to keep all things retro. There's even a cover of "Paint it Black"!
If "Minor You (Major Me)" isn't the bastard offspring of "Too Young to Fall in Love" then there's something wrong with the DNA test but do you know what? Everything is done with panache and a sense of fun and in the throaty Liv Jagrell Sister Sin have a bit of a star in their ranks so if meat and potato metal is your thing I recommend this.
The Victory Records remaster of this Sister Sin debut album comes with a bonus DVD of all of the band's promo videos which sadly wasn't available for review.
