Hamilton, Scott: Swedish Ballads…& More
Scott Hamilton has always helped carry on the tradition, as a classic jazz tenor saxophonist, of his mentors Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins as well as Zoot Sims and Don Byas. This great new compilation of Scandinavian influenced songs is another great slice of his talent served for all fans of jazz standards. Included in this set of tracks is Hamilton's take on Miles Davis' "Dear Old Stockholm", as well as Quincy Jones's "Stockholm Sweetnin'". If that isn't enough to wet the appetite, then the other five tracks will surely do the trick.
Joining Hamilton on this set of jazz classics is Jesper Lundgaard, on bass; and Kristian Leth, on drums. But one of the best parts of the album, besides Hamilton's intricate sax is Jan Lundgren's expert piano.
Every track is a soothing evening meal enhancer or morning wake up relaxer. The blues set within some classic jazz. What more could you want? Sit back and enjoy some classic jazz delivered by an expert.
