Pantheon of Blood: Tetrasomia

This EP, which clocks in at just less than twenty minutes, has been available for a little over a month as a maxi single and on cassette. Two of the tracks may also be streamed on the band's bandcamp page (see the link below). Fans of Finnish occult black metal bands will certainly want to sample this release, if only to see how Pantheon of Blood fits in with more traditional bands.

I like traditional black metal, but I wasn't as impressed with this release as I have been with other bands like this. The reason is that the music didn't really do much to grab my attention one way or the other. Each of the four tracks were straightforward black metal songs that didn't do very much to distinguish themselves from one another or, really, from other similar bands. I was also disappointed with the vocals on this EP. I know how the vocals in this style of metal are supposed to work, but the overall sound was a little too raspy, even too tinny, to make for a good listen.
