Founded in 2009 by Pavel Stepanov and playing dark symphonic metal of sorts or as they call it "synthetic, progressive death metal" is the London based group Ygodeh. Their latest release is The Experiment Interrupted, and Ygodeth are not your everyday death metal band settling with tradition. This a group that is keen to try different combinations and instruments having come up with an interesting somewhat bleak album.
"To Down" is a blend of orchestral sounding metal with quite evil sounding vocals underpinned by the pulsating sounds of double kicks, the drums get faster for the blackened start of "From on High" while the instrumental section later on in this track is a nice addition. "Groove's Night" is ok but nothing special while "Eternal Immortal" is better with some interesting turns while "Fallen's" is another strong heavy track. "Trance Orchestra" with it's quite catchy music is a highlight at the later stages of this release followed by a short instrumental "Fragment 2".
The word experiment in the album title is very fitting as the band are certainly experimenting with The Experiment Interrupted.
