Rublood: Star Vampire

Rublood are a band who wears their influences proudly. Bands such as Rammstein, Depeche Mode, Joy Division and Deathstars are cited as forming major contributions to their sound and one can certainly see the links especially with Deathstars. Fortunately (for me as I hate their entire canon) there is precious little of Joy Division's depressive stylings on Star Vampire which is an album which should delight all those of an industrial rock bent.

There's a distinct gothic atmosphere through the core of the album, heck, there's even a song called "Goth Love" to exemplify that particular situation. At times bands such as HIM, Sisters of Mercy and on the not-very-big-or-clever "Electro Starfuckers" there is a bit of a Murderdolls/Wednesday 13/Frankenstein Drag Queens vibe but without the sense of danger of those acts.
