Highlight Kenosis: Shield of Faith

Highlight Kenosis is a Bucharest, Romanian progressive metal band fronted by the beautiful vocals of Brazilian singer Marina La Torraca. She became the new singer of the band "like a gift during the Christmas of 2012". Her voice is the gift that keeps giving. She expressively delivers the powerful lyrics that Shield of Faith, the band's third album following Glowing, in 2009, and Change, in 2012, provides for its fans.

The band is made up of Matei Damian-Ulmu, on lead electric, acoustic, and bass guitar, and backing vocals: Florian Mathes, on drums and percussion; Roje, on keyboards; and of course Marina La Torraca on vocals, backing vocals and choirs.

There are no throw-away tracks on this album filled with powerful hits. The guitars, drums and keyboards are simply amazing. My favorite tracks were "Feel Free", "Through Somebody's Eyes", "Fight the Evil", "In the Shadow", and "To Dare is to Do".

This is the kind of album that introduces the sound of Highlight Kenosis to both new fans and old with the addition of La Torraca. I was so impressed when I first heard the album that I have been in search of their past albums ever since.

Do yourself a favor and buy this album. Highly recommended.
