Vendetta lead guitarist Edward Box has culled together his two previous solo albums, 2002's Plectrumhead and 2005's Moonfudge for this 21 track package titled Motion Control. All the songs have been remastered, as well as enhancements made to some of the songs, like a new rhythm guitar track here, a new lead solo there. Throughout the entire set, one thing remains clear; Box can shred, but these tracks are more about the actual songs & melodies, rather than excuse for endless wankery. From rock, to metal, to fusion, there's a little bit of something here for everyone. Check out his tasty lead lines and alluring melodies on the heartfelt "Blue Skies Above", or the raunchy funk metal of "Five Knuckle Shuffle" for a blast of Satriani/Saraceno styled fun. There's even some haunting Ronnie Montrose inspired licks on the tender "So Glad", showing an additional side to the guitarist's repertoire.
Though there's a LOT of music here to take in, for lovers of instrumental guitar music, this one's sure to give you plenty of mileage.
