From our friends over at the always dependable house of extreme metal, Hells Headbangers, comes the latest from Australian death/black/thrash act Nocturnal Graves, titled ...From the Bloodline of Cain. The band has been around since 2004, and though they have had numerous line-up changes over the years, currently the group is comprised of Nuclear Exterminator (Bass, vocals), Decaylust (Guitars), Shrapnel (Lead Guitars), and L. Wilson (Drums). These guy play fast & furious old school styled extreme metal which screams the '80s right down to the production. Fans of early Slayer, Bathory, Dark Angel, Kreator, Destruction, Death, and Angel Corpse will certainly love the miasma of blitzkrieg riffs, shrieking whammy bar lead guitar excursions, relentless double bass drums, and ravaged, gruff vocals. Tunes like "The Conquerer's Flame" and "Promethean War" pack a mean punch, with the relentless riffing and wild lead guitar soloing drilling into your skull with just the right amount of savagery, while "The Great Adversary" just crushes from start to finish, Nuclear Exterminator's gravelly vocal delivery screeching over the top of tumultuous riffing and more zig-zagging lead work.
If you are in the mood for some no-nonsense old school styled extreme metal without frills or gimmicks, ...From the Bloodline of Cainwill be a great album to check out.
