Finnish group Jack The Frost are all set to impress with the melodic power metal on their enjoyable debut EP Fool To Be Cool. Jack The Frost's swift power metal is of the European kind with blistering melodious guitar work and blazing double kicks, the kind of metal that has been around for many years going back to the eighties yet still remains so very appealing today.
Packing ample replay value as the guitars of Jack The Frost unleash those luring riffs on "Fool To Be Cool" and the band are moving along at substantial pace then slowing it down for the chorus and parts of the striking solo section. The vibrant power metal of "Planet Of Love" and "Jack The Frost" lead us to the standout track "Under The Nordic Sky". If Jack The Frost can come back with a full length album and songs as good as "Under The Nordic Sky" then I can't wait to hear it, the entrancing animated music and soaring clean vocals are so captivating.
Jack The Frost are one to keep on your radar. While some bands that used to perform this style of metal and very well indeed I might add now leave me confused as to what direction they are taking, it is great to see newer acts appearing and keeping the true spirit of European power metal alive and well.
