This 19-minute long track from the pairing of Belgium's doomy black metal act Alkerdeel and Dutch experimental black metallers Gnaw Their Tongues is probably exactly what those familiar with each band will expect. Noisy, droning, claustrophobic, harsh, frightening, and violent are just some of the ways that you can explain this near 20 minute ride into hell. At times, much of what is on display here is nearly unlistenable, but when these guys start to cook and really get down to some furious, chaotic black metal (at about the half-way point), the results are much more enjoyable. The shrieking, screaming vocals are all over the place, which doesn't make for an easy listen at times, but those into raw, primal black metal certainly will be used to that aspect of it. The more atmospheric, droning passages are far less interesting, which is how the song opens and closes, but as an extended piece of varying moods and textures, overall this one executes quite nicely.
