Andi Deris And The Bad Bankers: Million Dollar Haircuts On Ten Cent Heads

Million Dollar Haircuts On Ten Cent Heads is the third Andi Deris (Helloween, ex. Pink Cream 69) solo album or as I should say this time it's Andi and band hence the title Andi Deris And The Bad Bankers. Andi's been silent on the solo front as his last recording was Done By Mirrors from back in 1999 but now he is back with a great new album.

Million Dollar Haircuts On Ten Cent Heads does have plenty for the metal fans, and it is also quite diverse when compared to the vocalists main legendary group. Though stirring songs like "The Last Days Of Rain" and "Enamoria" would slot right into a Helloween album, and while this release will naturally attract the Helloween fans others should do themselves a favour and take a listen.

Andi composed and wrote the album and the band's name, album title and some of the content takes aim at in Andi's words "Obviously we despise everything around banks, managers and bankers who are clearly responsible for the shit that goes on nowadays -- and most certainly in our future -- so it felt very good to vocally tell them what we think about them."

Like "Asshole" off Helloween's latest Straight Out Of Hell the catchy and heavy modern rocker "Cock" also has some adult content in it's lyrics as Andi's not holding back when he puts his thoughts across. The heady riffs of "Banker's Delight(Dead Or Alive)" are very effective and "Blind" is a song that I took an instant liking to as the music and vocals are so addictive starting off quite gentle and building in heaviness, this is just one of the quality songs on here. If you want more heavy rock then there is "Don't Listen To The Radio (TWOTW 1938)" followed by the very good "Who Am I" a track that goes through many inviting changes. While "Must Be Dreaming" is another winner actually Million Dollar Haircuts On Ten Cent Heads is a very consistent album as there aren't any songs that I don't like, from the opener to the acoustic sounds of "I Sing Myself Away".

Andi has put together a comendable selection of songs on his third solo album Million Dollar Haircuts On Ten Cent Heads. He continues to show what an adaptable and talented vocalist he is and as for the "The Bad Bankers" well they impress also.
