Canadian's Skull Fist are another group fuelling the revival of classic heavy metal, and they have a new album Chasing The Dream.
Chasing The Dream appears three years after the Toronto based band's debut Head Of The Pack. Though it doesn't always sound ideal the production on Chasing The Dream really helps capture the sprit of days gone by. Founder, lead vocalist and guitarist Jackie Slaughter and his band mates possess the right goods performing their highly energised metal. There's no place for ballads on Chasing The Dream just good old ballsy heavy metal with a substantial speed metal component as Skull Fist fire up on "Hour To Live". Skull Fist do give their high reaching vocalist a breather as they included a rousing instrumental on Chasing The Dream and really what else could it be with the title "Shred's Not Dead"? And shredding is indeed what you get on this standout track, while others of note include "Hour To Live"and "Don't Stop The Fight".
Chasing The Dream has been receiving some serious praise, I don't share quite their high level of enthusiasm not yet anyway but can see why they may be so drawn to this release. Skull Fist certainly have the passion and potential to make a name for themselves.
