Night Sacrifice is a three track demo release allowing the brief opportunity to experience the songs of this new Chilean traditional metal band called Lucifer's Hammer.
Not the most original group by any means Lucifer's Hammer are obviously fans of Iron Maiden and similar bands and listening to opening track "Wolf" they certainly don't hide that influence. The guitars are prominent as is the bass and vocals are adequate though this release is not helped by the mix. Like when one of the guitars gets buried sounding very distant at the start of "Shadows", and any improvement would have made a big difference to the final product.
When assessing this release you do have to take into the equation that Night Sacrifice is a demo after all, and so with the proper backing the results could be somewhat improved. The songs are well structured and Lucifer's Hammer do show promise on Night Sacrifice. I have no doubt that given the opportunity Lucifer's Hammer can entice us with a stronger metal follow up if they can also rectify the sound, so they get a clearer more effective outcome.
