With their second album out soon Polish power metal band Night Mistress will present the opportunity to step Into The Madness. Not a new group as we have to go back to 2003 to find when Night Mistress kicked off. Releasing an EP In The Land Of The Freezing Sun in 2006 and their full length debut was to follow in 2010 titled The Back Of Beyond. Now with Into The Madness Night Mistress are forging ahead on their quest to reach a larger audience expanding their fan base, and Into The Madness has the right consistency to achieve just that.
The songs of Night Mistress aren't too complex or pushing the speed barrier, like other European metal groups say Dream Evil this album has more to do with effective potent metallic hooks than frequent technical showmanship or blazing European power metal. Vocalist Chris Sokolowski also of another Polish power metal group Exlibris has quite a range sounding very good on this new album. If the meaty guitar's of "Until The Day Will Dawn" don't capture your attention I'd be very surprised. There's a NWOMB influence on the excellent "Hand Of God" as their harmonic axe slingers are united and Chris's high pitched vocals are spot on. Night Mistress' take us to "The Place I Belong" with some cool additions like those crafty drum fills before rocking out as they are "Walking On Air" and their metal is firing up for "Hell Race".
Night Mistress's Into The Madness is a powerful album teeming with catchy magnetic metal till the last notes of closer "Recurring Nightmare", this is yet another Polish group that have got it right.
