Looking for an extreme style of thrash metal? The band Hammercult from Israel sure have it on their second release Steel Crusher. Though there is much more incorporated into this album style wise than impactful thrash metal like death and black metal. To give you an idea of that diversity I was reminded at times of another metal group Children Of Bodom, who also are not limited to one style. As there is also a melodic side to the blazing destructive metal of Hammercult and they to handle those ultra fast guitar solos with ease.
The epic depiction of an titanic battle on the cover art is certainly quite imposing, and Hammercult have backed it up with the music and effects of Hymn To The Steel making for a cool but short opener. Wasting no time at all Hammercult promptly tear through title track "Steelcrusher" with their evil vocals sounding like they are rising from the pits of hell, and they do alter on this album sounding great on "Damnation Arise". Hammercult also like the gang chants on Steelcrusher, those in that Children Of Bodom kind of style.
Steelcrusher sure has an addictive quality and Hammercult haven't skimped on the quantity of songs as there is a great selection of crushing metal to be discovered.
