Zone Zero: The Lost Legacy
This is a bit of a strange release. The good people at Shadow Kingdom Records have seen fit to unleash this compilation on the unsuspecting world and suggest that this "collection captures the magic of a band heavily influenced by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal but somehow fell through the cracks of that burgeoning scene." Apparently Zone Zero weren't exactly prolific during their time together in Sweden in the early 1980s and I've no doubt that this redressed that situation especially now that the band is apparently back together. Sadly one can see why they didn't set the word alight back in the day as there's nothing here to set them apart from thousands of other bands around at the time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with any of the tracks here but there is equally nothing that stands up and shouts (see what I did there?) anything other than bog standard NWOBHM.
