Their songs are melodic and inviting and their line-up features members of the bands Secret Sphere, Bejelit and HateTyler, they are the powerful new Italian modern metal group called Temperance. Temperance is a power metal band and then some, there are symphonic elements, folk, metal core and electronic touches in the mix. Hard to compare to just one other group due to quite the mixture of styles Temperance also features chiefly female vocals and they are one of the more solid sounding new bands whom do just that.
There are other positives associated with this release including the fact that Temperance's first album was mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni (DGM, Empyrios). This prominent Italian musician and producer has ensured that Temperance's self-titled debut sounds just right. Lead guitarist Marco Pastorino also provides clean vocals and Temperance are another incorporating those what now seem to be just about essential growls, but they are not overdone or detrimental to the appeal of Temperance's songs. It's mostly clear sailing throughout the entire album, the highlights have me engaged with that dynamic opener "Tell Me" and other heavy numbers including "Hero" and "Relentlessly" showing Temperance have the makings of an impressive band.
So if the standout songs on Temperance's debut are any indication of what we can expect then there is the potential for a not to be missed follow up album.
