American metal group Circle II Circle have released a live album Live At Waken(Official Bootleg) leaving no surprises as to where this performance took place in 2012. Circle II Circle fans looking for their favourite band tracks wont find them here as Live At Waken(Official Bootleg) is not your usual live recording. An album featuring Circle II Circle's original material is what you would most probably have been expecting of such a release and well that isn't the case, as what we have here is actually a cover album. Not your ordinary one as Circle II Circle have decided to be more adventurous than just covering their favourite tunes. For this their first live release the band actually performed a selection of songs taken from Savatage's highly regarded progressive concept release The Wake Of Magellan. Circle II Circle's lead vocalist Zak Steven is no stranger to the album as he appeared on the original back in the late nineties, during his time as a member of the popular metal group.
Circle II Circle's shining performances all round are here to be experienced on Live At Waken(Official Bootleg) and the band is heard nice and clear sounding like a live album should. Circle II Circle dish out an energetic and powerful presentation of Savatage's material, and clearly giving The Wake Of Magellan the justice it deserves vocals and all.
