Alberto Rigoni is a talented Italian bass player, composer and member of progressive metal group Twinspirits, also the all-star Vivaldi Metal Project with artists from all over the globe, and pop electro duo Lady and the BASS. Alberto has also been carving a name for himself as a successful solo artist releasing three well received albums since 2008. They are Something Different, Rebirth and Three Wise Monkeys. Album number four is the heavier and vocal less recording Overloaded a fine instrumental release from Alberto, someone who is clearly not afraid to try something different.
Quite a varied music recording as Overload includes both progressive rock and metal with contributions from other notable Italian musicians including guitarists Marco Sfogli (James LaBrie) and Simone Mularoni (DGM, Empyrios). Actually all participants on Overloaded show what high caliber musicians they are. So given those involved you would expect Overloaded to provide the listener with a good deal of instrumental showmanship which it does, and with balanced performances as to not diminish the catchiness of the material. I can see this album appealing to fans of say from the likes of Dream Theater to Joe Satriani that's the broad appeal of Overloaded. Also of note "This album is dedicated to the great bassist Randy Coven who sadly passed away on May 2oth 2014. R.I.P. Randy, you will always inspire my music!".
Overload features songs that are tasteful and instantly appealing and continues Alberto's run of impressive solo albums.
